In this series produced by Mahi Tahi Media, 14-year-old Hawaiki James Morrison (Ngāi Tahu/Ngāti Whakaue) shares his thoughts — in te reo Māori — about how one of his ancestors helped create the Treaty of Waitangi, whilst another protested against it. The eldest son of prominent te reo Māori advocates and broadcasters, Stacey and Scotty Morrison, is interviewed at his home in Tāmaki Makaurau. Morrison shares his opinion on his unique family history, the two different versions of the treaty and how Te Tiriti o Waitangi is taught in schools. Ohinga is a current affairs web series made for and by rangitahi Māori.
