Gordon Bennett

Short Film (Full Length) – 1989

Featuring an A-list of Kiwi screen talent, short film Gordon Bennett is a comedy about a man with a gift for causing disaster. Gordon (Andy Anderson) arrives to help his mates with their concrete laying business — but his "she'll be right" approach causes pandemonium. Dean Parker (Came a Hot Friday) based the script on a story by Tim Shadbolt. Selected for festivals in London, Seattle and Oporto in Portugal, the film marked a rare turn behind the camera for Sleeping Dogs co-star Nevan Rowe. Playing the concrete laying team are Jim Moriarty, Shirley Gruar and Peter Tait.

It's alright, Christine. Everything is under control. There is no problem. There's no money sure, but there is no problem.
– Cosgrove (Jim Moriarty) to his partner Christine (Shirley Gruar)
